Abstract

Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang prevalensinya terus meningkat baik secara global maupun nasional, termasuk di Kabupaten Tuban. Faktor risiko utama seperti pola makan tinggi gula, rendah konsumsi pangan sehat, dan rendahnya literasi gizi masyarakat berkontribusi pada tingginya beban diabetes melitus. Program pengabdian masyarakat GRAKULA (Gerakan Kendali Gula untuk Cegah Diabetes Bersama) dilaksanakan di Desa Remen Kecamatan Jenu, dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai diabetes, literasi label gizi, dan pengenalan pangan lokal rendah indeks glikemik, khususnya uwi. Kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan edukasi interaktif, demonstrasi pembacaan label gizi, skrining gula darah sewaktu dan evaluasi pengetahuan menggunakan pre-post test. Sebanyak 27 peserta menyelesaikan seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Hasil skrining menunjukkan rerata gula darah 123,8 mg/dL dengan 7,4% peserta memiliki gula darah ≥200 mg/dL serta 44,5% berada pada kategori hipertensi. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan setelah edukasi (Z= -4,462;p<0,001) dengan 92,6% peserta mengalami peningkatan skor post test. Intervensi edukasi mengenai diabetes, pembacaan label gizi, dan pengenalan pangan rendah indeks glikemik seperti uwi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi gizi di masyarakat. Pengabdian selanjutnya diharapkan bisa memperluas jangkauan program ke beberapa wilayah dan menjadi program rutin di komunitas/ desa. Selain itu bisa menerapkan pemahaman literasi gizi menjadi keterampilan nyata yang dapat diterapkan di kehidupan sehari hari.
